On our great and triumphant return to school we began by using Google Sketchup. Today was going to be focused on the use of the rotate tool on objects because of the lack of knowledge based around the entirity of the tool itself. We started by creating a jenga block then moved into rotating the block in different angles either horizontal or vertical.
The JPL team showed us all their failures today because the competition was last to last Saturday and all the teams failed so they were able to get to the championship round and if the Kevin arm worked it would have been the only that could have won. They were really close but the second funnel wasn't in all the way so there was spillage on the outside.
We had our Wednesday Challenge today and was another one of the random team pairing where we had to build a tower
using graham crackers, pretzel sticks, and marshmallows. Our sketchup wasn't complete due to complications with the
rotate tool and had to resort to lines in order to include the pretzels.

Yesterday we did the sketchup of our tower and today we are building which means that we get a sketchup from an
unknown team. It was obviously unbuildable so we couldn't even do set it up without it falling over because there was
no fondation and the structure couldn't even stand still when we were holding it with our hands.
On Friday Dr. Neato was absent so we watched MythBusters with a substitute who gave us time to watch two episodes.
One episode was based on a car crash where the car would fall front first into the ground with a remade buster and the
next episode was racing a toy car and real car with the other half was about yawning and if its actually contaigous.
Monday was a very exciting day because we were put into groups for our semester final which was half scale in correlation to the JPL's requirements. I was placed into a group with Garen, David and Jaden whom I am slightly familiar with and we immediately started brain storming with a design that was based on the JPL's Kevin Arm but with a twist literally because ours would motion at a curved horizontal to vertical angle then empting into the reciprical.
Today began with all of us agreeing to scrap Yesterday's idea due to a complication with how the cup will be emptied without getting stuck or spilling all of the water all around the reciprical instead of inside of it where we actually need it. Then combined our varying ideas into a single idea which turned out to be a pulley system that would carry the cup up by a ring while being guided by a beam until it's in a closed area where it will empty into a pipe that will drain into a stool funnel that is not touching but inside and above the reciprical.
Wednesday started off with all of us planning to not do anything all period because david was persumed absent so we settled in to be greeted by David a few minutes later and ultimately sticking to our elaborate plan for the day. While on our phones we did begin the discussion of which materials we would use for our great brain-child of a "machine" and drew it out for Dr.Neato who was willing to buy our supplies if we gave him the exact dimensions for each and every piece of our "machine"
Thursday was probably the least productive day that I have been apart of in Principles of Engineering class. We first were asked/told to sit in the group of tables in the corner which inevitilably lead to all of us just playing on our phones.
Today Dr. Neato was not here so we had a substitute teacher but still had Mr.Miller and the whole period was a workday basically for us to continue to plan out what we were going to do for the final project.

Today was finally our last day of school for this semester and year along with it being our 5th and 6th period finals. Once at the classroom I met with Garen and Jaden as we searched for David who had the final piece to our project which was the pulley that would attach to the drain and pick up the cup with the water. After a while of waiting we began our campaign to fabricate our new pulley which just lead to our inevitable failure when we ran out of time. Out of disappointment we slipped into a rage and destroyed the entire project.
