NOVEMBER

October 31, 2016-November 4, 2016

Today was halloween and this year I chose not to dress up this due to the fact that I wanted to buy a Barrack Hussien Obama mask but wasn't allowed to because my mother felt that it was very "offensive" and not politically correct in the environment of the high school I attend here at Crescenta Valley High School. But my day still went as planned as I held in my insulting remarks about peoples costumes and stayed out of trouble so I could hang out with my friends afterschool to get lots of candy to eat.

Today we are supposed to do a sketchup on the Lego Block. Since I have already finished that, I have to do the back of the Lego Block which sucks. The whole period I will have to do the Lego Block.

Today's Wednesday Challenge was technically a team work challenge though we were not given the names nor number of the co-working group. This entire challenge was based around the sketchup designs that both groups would be making. We were placed into groups of three, I was with Arthur and Garen, where we had to create a sketchup model of the capital letter E and then we were supposed to get a sketchup model from another group.

As a continuation of Yesterday's Wednesday Challenge today we were given another group's sketchup model and had to make a real life model of it out of cardboard with the exact dimensions without making that many mistakes in it's construction. Our construction began with us first drawing it on a piece of cardboard then proceeded to cutting off the excese material where we then moved on to labeling our capital E.

I was absent but was told that we met the other half of our group Capital E Wednesday Challenge Form

I was also told that we went over our website gradesWebsites Grades

I was absent but was told that we just worked on our websites

Today we did nothing. We all workied on catching up to today. I overheard Dr. Neato telling my other friend to be a judge for tomorrow's WC. Apparently its a really easy challenge using the scale. I caught up to today and I even managed to work on the back of that lego block.

Todays Wednesday Challenge was an odd ball because whole idea of it was pretty much guess, guess, guess and our resources were limited to barely enough. I was placed in a group with Maddie, Noah and Raul and then given 1 bag of 1kg of screws and an unknown weighing cylinderlistic object. Upon recieving the weights we proceeded to weigh them in both hands as I turned to other groups for permission to borrow their 1kg bag

Thursday's Friday was the usual with the groups presenting and Mr.Wilton visiting, though more groups were ready with their projects and better prepared with their presentations for the upcoming qualifing competetion. I was using my computer most of the period while still paying attention to them and went on a trip to the shop to look at the amazing creations that the JPL group has put together for the very important competetion . Plus Dr.Neato chose his way to choose the winner of Yesterday's Wednesday challenge by asking us how the scale works and since I was unable to speak (i lost my voice due to a sinus infection since last friday)I couldn't explain how it works and group shunned my attempt to alert them and the sole person that volunteered won the challenge.

Monday was finally the day for getting answers to the mystery of who won last, last weeks by giving us a sheet to view on the whiteboard and we found out that we were second with a very small margin of error. Of only 1/16 of an inch. The rest of the period we spent working on our websites in a continuation to further our grades in as Dr.Neato puts it, the easiest class there is in the whole entire school. E Final Results

Tuesday was our first official day of working on our bridge project though I used my time to fix and update my website since I am flying solo on this project and already had the entire project pretty much complete. I also spent time gathering more pictures for my website in the upcoming months but accidently got all the links instead of the actual pictures so that was a huge waste of time and the bell rung soon after so I quickly uploaded it.

Todays Wednesday Challenge was all about sheer force and was the second event that Mr.Miller had led us in and once again placed us all in groups of four. In was placed in a group with Sona, Lucas and Max whom I all knew from being in groups with them three. We decided to stick to tape for attaching the two metal pieces to one another but were left with the worst tape when our first roll of tape was misused. To ensure our success we wrapped the entire object in tape making it's width over three inches and then moved onto testing it with a pulley like beam object. Ours held on for sixteen pounds of shear force but had to stop because the wieght may become dangerous to others in the area.

Thursday was one of the most disappointing days since Mr.Miller informed us that Yesterday's Wednesday Challenge wasn't going to affect our grade by us winning because he doesn't view the Challenge as a competetion which contradicts many of his other lectures in past Challenges and goes against what Dr.Neato has told us all in past weeks and seems unfair to the group that used their wits to defeat the other groups in the principles of engineering classroom Sheer Force Wednesday Challenge Form

Another weekly JPL presentation and it's a special day. We have four different inventions, but we can only use three in the end so Dr.Neato said that part of the day we would have time to work on our websites but most of it will be focused on the the four inventions which will be only three in the end once Mr.Willton has completed his intense critique of each of the projects.
